Fresh Start Youth & Family Services is a trauma-informed residential group home serving youth ages 12–17. We support youth experiencing mental health symptoms, trauma, behavioral health challenges, and emotional dysregulation by providing 24/7 structure and mental health services through contracted licensed clinicians.

Who We Support

We serve youth who may experience:

  • Trauma-related symptoms (PTSD symptoms, hypervigilance, grief/loss)

  • Anxiety and persistent worry

  • Depression and low mood

  • Mood instability and emotional dysregulation

  • Behavioral challenges and impulsivity

  • Difficulty with coping skills, anger management, and conflict resolution

  • Placement instability due to mental/behavioral health needs

Mental Health Services Provided
(Clinical + Therapeutic)

Mental health services are provided through contracted licensed clinicians and are integrated into the residential program to support stabilization and healing.

Individual Therapy

  • Weekly or bi-weekly sessions based on clinical need

  • Trauma-informed approaches focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, and stabilization

  • Treatment goals aligned with the youth’s case plan and placement plan

Group Therapy / Skills Groups

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills groups

  • Trauma education and healthy self-awareness

  • Communication, boundaries, and healthy relationships

  • Conflict resolution and decision-making skills

Psychiatric Services / Medication Management (if clinically indicated)

  • Psychiatric evaluation and ongoing medication monitoring

  • Coordination of prescriptions and follow-up care

  • Medication support and observation within the home per policy

  • Intake screening and stabilization planning during the first 7–14 days

  • Individualized treatment plan with measurable goals

  • Coordination with CBC/case managers and clinical providers to ensure continuity of care

Treatment Planning & Clinical Coordination

Crisis Prevention & De-escalation Support

  • Individual safety planning

  • Staff-supported de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies

  • Documentation and communication with the care team as required
